Custom Software Development for Retail
Custom retail software that bridges your shop floor and your e-commerce: POS, headless commerce, loyalty and inventory in one tenant you control.
What Retail Software Delivers
- A POS that does not stop selling when wifi drops: Retail buyers are mid-market chains with 10-200 stores who have a Shopify or Magento on the e-commerce side, an ageing POS in the shops, and an ERP that does not really know what stock is available where. Off-the-shelf 'unified commerce' platforms (Salesforce Commerce, Lightspeed, Mirakl) cost more than the chain can stomach and still leave gaps. We build the missing layer in code: a single inventory truth, a POS that works offline, loyalty that crosses channels, and the integrations that make the ERP, the e-commerce and the shop floor stop arguing with each other.
- Single source of truth for stock: We model stock as a real-time projection across stores, warehouses, in-transit and reserved buckets, so a sale in store 12 reduces the e-commerce buyable count instantly. Reservations have TTLs, oversells are prevented, and ship-from-store is decided based on cost-to-serve, not on which warehouse is closest on a map.
- Headless commerce when SaaS does not fit: We work with Saleor, Medusa, Vendure or commercetools when you need full ownership; we extend Shopify Plus and Adobe Commerce when you do not. The decision is driven by your catalogue size, B2B/B2C mix and the depth of customisation, not by which vendor we have a partnership with.
- Spanish payment stack done right: Redsys for online cards (3DS2 properly handled, not the demo-grade integration we usually find), SumUp and Verifone for in-store, Bizum for B2C, Stripe for international. Returns and partial refunds wired correctly, including the ones across channels (online buy, in-store return).
- Loyalty that actually retains: Tier-based programs, gamified missions, surprise-and-delight rewards, segment-specific promos. We build the rule engine so marketing can ship a campaign in an afternoon without engineering, and the data goes back to the warehouse so you can measure incrementality, not just enrolments.
- ERP and accounting integration without daily fires: SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Sage, Holded, A3: we have integrated against all of them for retail. Sales journals, inventory movements, supplier invoices and tax (VAT, IRPF, IGIC for Canarias) flow nightly without anyone clicking. The bookkeeper notices nothing, which is the point.
How We Build Your Retail Software
- Channel and inventory map: We list every channel (web, marketplaces, stores, wholesale, B2B portal), every stock location and every cross-channel scenario. The pain points are usually obvious in this conversation alone.
- Catalogue and pricing model: We design the master catalogue (variants, attributes, taxonomy, multi-currency, regional pricing) once, so it stops being copy-pasted across channels.
- POS and store apps: We build the in-store apps for tills, clienteling on tablets, stockroom scanning. All run on commodity Android hardware so the chain is not locked into one POS vendor's prices.
- E-commerce, marketplaces and B2B portal: Storefront on Next.js or Astro with proper SEO, marketplaces synced via Mirakl or direct (Amazon, Miravia, Decathlon Marketplace, Carrefour). B2B portal with credit limits, custom catalogues and quote workflows.
- Pilot store and pilot region: Roll out the new POS in one store while the e-commerce migration runs in shadow mode. Two weeks of clean numbers, then expand.
- Black Friday rehearsal: Before any Q4 we run a load test and a chaos drill against the production stack at 3x peak. Retail collapses during peak season are common; ours have not been.
High-performance stack used by global leaders
React/Next.js/Angular on the frontend and Java 21 + Spring Boot + PostgreSQL 14 on the backend: the same stack that BBVA, ING, and Netflix use for their security and performance.
We are Shopify Partners. And we do not stop at the theme: we build the storefront in code, so you depend on no third party and the store is 100% yours. Shopify
Retail Software: FAQ
How much does it cost to build a retail software product?
A unified inventory + POS pilot for a 10-store chain typically lands €50,000-€110,000. A full omnichannel rebuild (POS, e-commerce, loyalty, ERP integration) runs €150,000-€400,000 depending on the chain size and number of marketplaces. A B2B portal on top of an existing ERP is usually €40,000-€90,000.
How long does implementation take?
Single-store POS pilot in 8-10 weeks. Chain-wide POS roll-out, 4-6 months by phasing stores. Full omnichannel rebuild including e-commerce migration, 7-12 months, and we never roll out the week before Black Friday.
Are you familiar with retail-specific regulations?
Yes. Veri*factu / TicketBAI for invoicing in Spain, the ticket conservation requirements of the Ley Antifraude, the 14-day right of withdrawal for distance selling under TRLGDCU, the EU Digital Services Act and the Geo-blocking Regulation. For US retail, sales tax through Avalara or TaxJar, PCI-DSS scope reduction.
Can you integrate with our ERP and accounting?
Yes. SAP (S/4HANA, Business One), Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, Sage 200, Sage X3, A3, Holded, Odoo, NetSuite. Inventory, sales journals, customer masters, supplier invoices, flowing automatically and reconciled. We also handle the back-office accounting needs around Veri*factu when it becomes mandatory in 2026.
How do you handle data residency and customer privacy?
EU customer data, including loyalty profiles and purchase history, stays in EU regions. We minimise PCI scope by tokenising at the gateway. Marketing consent is granular per channel (email, SMS, push, WhatsApp) and tied to a clear legal basis under the AEPD's e-commerce guidance.
Can you handle marketplaces?
Yes. Direct integration with Amazon Seller/Vendor, Miravia, Decathlon Marketplace, Carrefour Marketplace, Worten, Privalia, Veepee. Or aggregation through Mirakl Connect or ChannelEngine when the marketplace count grows. Pricing rules per marketplace, automatic delisting when stock drops below safety threshold, returns flowing back into one queue.
Can the POS run on cheap Android tablets?
Yes, that is the default. We build the till as a native Android app or a PWA depending on the chain's IT preferences. Hardware-wise, we have validated against Sunmi, Newland, Zebra and even basic Samsung tablets with a Bluetooth printer. No €1,500 dedicated POS hardware needed.
What about clienteling and store associates?
We build clienteling apps where the associate sees the customer's full purchase history (online and in-store), wishlist, sizes, and recent service interactions when they walk in identified by loyalty card or app. Outreach campaigns are pushed to the associate's tablet so the message comes from the store they know, not from a generic brand inbox.
Do you work with clients globally?
Yes. We work fully remote with clients across Spain, Europe, the US and LATAM. Time zones, video calls and live demos at every milestone.
